Professional Experience in Nursing
October 2013 to Present. RN – Clinical Nurse Educator, Florida Hospital Zephyrhills. Responsible for conducting orientation and training of clinical staff. Oversees New RN Graduate program. Develops training material including PowerPoint presentations for online learning programs and classroom training. Manages Net Learning training and mandatory annual competencies for staff. Assigned to participate in hospital committees to assist with development of policies and staff education. Works with other educators to develop educational content and implement Safety/Skills fairs to meet JCAHO requirements for staff competencies.
May 2010 to October 2013. RN – Cath Lab/Electrophysiology Nurse, Florida Hospital Zephyrhills. Provided critical care nursing expertise to patients undergoing routine invasive procedures. Regularly undertook administration of conscious sedation and was personally responsible for monitoring, evaluation and patient safety during procedures. Participated in emergency STEMI call team and maintained current expertise in ACLS protocols and advanced cardiac invasive support equipment. Designated as Echocardiography Consultant to preform emergency echocardiographic procedures in department. Practiced emergency protocols under the direction of supervising cardiologist.

January 2013. Personally responsible for development of patient educational welcome kits for Cardiac Cath Lab and spearheaded a program to increase nurse to patient interaction time before procedure. This was implemented for the purpose of increasing patient satisfaction scores, and to relieve pre-procedure anxiety. The program is still in operation. Florida Hospital, Zephyrhills, Florida.

Volunteer in an Adult Day Care for Alzheimer’s patients. Assisted the primary RN in developing Plans of Care, and participated as an activity assistant in a facility with patients in various stages of Alzheimer’s disease.
